Do I have to report an absence to Cherokee High School?

No, there is no need to call Cherokee High School to report an absence. If your child is absent from school, you will receive a robo-call around 10:00 AM alerting you to your child’s absence.

What do I do if I have a note to excuse my child’s absence from school?

If your child is absent for an excused reason, you may submit the appropriate documentation using the Cherokee High School Attendance Note Form

Please allow up to 2 school days for the note to be reflected in your child’s Genesis attendance record.

Can I use a parent note to excuse my child’s absence?

Yes, parents/guardians are able to write 3 parent notes each semester. Each note may excuse one day. Parent notes can be submitted using the Cherokee High School Attendance Note Form

What do I do if my child needs to leave school early?
-
At least 1 hour prior to the necessary dismissal time for your child, call the Cherokee Attendance Clerk, Mrs. Terri Skill at 856-983-5140 x. 222000. Mrs. Skill will provide your child with a pass to be dismissed from class at the approved time. If you prefer to email prior to the day of the early dismissal, you may reach Mrs. Skill at tskill@lrhsd.org. Mrs. Skill will call to confirm your child’s early dismissal plans.

If you are picking up your child, please come to the Cherokee North Main Entrance, where you will sign-in prior to leaving with your child.

If your child is driving themselves, then with your verbal approval, they will sign themselves out at the approved time.
